What a reputation management expert does
Online reputation management, handled properly
Online reputation management is the work of monitoring, improving and protecting what people find about your business online — your reviews, your listings, your search results and what AI assistants say about you. Here's what that means in practice.
Google review management
Every Google review monitored and answered properly — the good ones warmly, the difficult ones calmly and professionally, in your voice.
Negative review response
Measured replies that protect you legally and commercially. Handled well, a bad review often wins more trust than a page of perfect ones.
Listings & data accuracy
Correcting wrong phone numbers, opening hours and addresses across the web — a top reason customers give up and go elsewhere.
Review generation
A simple system that asks happy customers for reviews at the right moment. Always genuine, always within Google's rules — never bought or faked.
Fake reviews
We identify reviews that breach platform policy and report them through the proper channels — and chase the outcome.
AI reputation management
People now ask ChatGPT who to hire. We work on what AI assistants find and say about your business — a new front most agencies ignore.
Reputation monitoring
Round-the-clock alerts across Google, Trustpilot, Facebook, Tripadvisor and industry sites, so nothing sits unanswered for days.
Search result management
Pushing down unflattering results by building and ranking legitimate positive content you control: your site, profiles, press and directories.
Crisis response
When something goes wrong publicly, you get a clear plan and a same-day response — not silence while it spreads.
Your reputation is doing the selling before you ever speak
Nearly every customer checks you online first. By the time they call, they've already decided whether to trust you — and a single unanswered one-star review can cost you more than a month's marketing budget.
You lose the comparison
Customers compare you against two or three rivals in seconds. The higher rating usually wins, whatever your quality.
Bad results outrank you
A complaint on a forum or a review site can sit on page one of Google for years if nothing better outranks it.
Silence looks like guilt
An unanswered negative review reads as an admission. A calm reply often reassures more than the complaint worried people.
AI repeats what it finds
Ask an AI assistant to recommend a local firm and it draws on reviews and listings. Wrong or thin data gets repeated, not corrected.

Common Questions
Reputation management, answered
Online reputation management (ORM) is the work of monitoring, improving and protecting what people find about your business online. It covers your reviews, your star ratings, your business listings, what appears on page one of Google for your name, and increasingly what AI assistants say when someone asks them to recommend a business like yours.
A reputation management expert monitors every platform where your business is reviewed, responds to reviews professionally, generates genuine new reviews, corrects inaccurate listings, reports reviews that breach platform policy, and builds legitimate positive content to outrank anything unflattering in your search results.
Because almost every customer checks you online before contacting you. 97% of consumers read reviews before choosing a local business, and 68% will only use one rated four stars or above. Your reputation is making the sale — or losing it — before you ever speak to them.
UK reputation management typically costs £500 to £3,000 a month for a small or medium business, with basic monitoring alone at £200 to £500. Our packages are £249 a month for Protect and £499 a month for Repair & Grow, both plus VAT and rolling monthly, with a one-off reputation audit available at £99.
Only the platform can remove a review, and only when it breaches their policies — for example fake reviews, reviews from competitors, or ones containing abuse. We identify those, report them properly and chase the outcome, and we're often successful. But no honest agency can guarantee removal, and anyone promising to delete genuine criticism is either misleading you or planning something that could get your profile suspended. Genuine negative reviews are answered well, not hidden.
By asking happy customers at the right moment, through a simple system that makes leaving a review take seconds. Every review is genuine and from a real customer — we never buy reviews or write fake ones. Incentivising or faking reviews breaches Google's policies and UK consumer law, and can get your profile removed entirely.
Review responses and listing corrections show immediately. A meaningful shift in your star rating usually takes three to six months, depending on how many reviews you already have. Pushing an unflattering result off page one of Google typically takes six to twelve months, because it means ranking better content above it.

Google Business Profile and Google Maps, Trustpilot, Facebook, Tripadvisor, Yell, Checkatrade, TrustATrader, Which? Trusted Traders, Bark, Glassdoor, Indeed, Apple Maps, Bing Places and the directories specific to your industry.
It's managing what AI assistants like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews say about your business. These tools draw on your reviews, listings and website to decide who to recommend, so thin or inaccurate information gets repeated to potential customers. It's a new front that most reputation agencies don't yet cover — we include it in Repair & Grow.
